Find your quickest and most efficient way to reach the goal while minding the resources you have. - or that’s at least that’s a short description of what we wanted to reach with this new game mode.

In this post we’re going to explain on what the fork we spent so much time working on lately. More precisely:

Strategic Expeditions

Let’s take this picture as a reference point:

See those empty tiles?

The purpose is to PLACE down Tile Cards (environmental cards) in order to reach all Points of Interests / Enemies.

Once you have placed down several tiles, now you have a ground / an environment to walk on, you can MOVE on it.

So far pretty easy, right? Just placing down these Tile Cards and moving around to reach the boss. But here is the twist… you have to reach the boss (or the mission’s goal) while having LIMITED Tile Cards and movement.

You can see how much Movement or Cards you have left from the number under their button.

Placing tiles and moving around but limited, pretty simple right?

Yes, but that’s all, this is just the beginning. See those small Resource Icons in the upper-left part of the screen? Well, you have to pay attention to those.

What you do if the enemy boss is too strong? Or if your character has been damaged too much after battles with normal enemies? You will need those resources to ORDER various structures / facilities from the city in order to progress. For example, if you need to Heal your party during Expeditions, you will need to Order an Infirmary Unit, but in order to get these you must assure that you have the right resources for them.

You might start with some resources, but they will run out pretty easily, you have to exploit the resources you have around by yourself. You will need to be careful what you order first based on your priorities. So if you want to generate more Wood, you will have to order a Lumberyard to exploit Forest Tiles. If you want to generate more Gold, you will have to find an Abandoned Gold Mine and Order the right Expertise to exploit it.

You’ll have to plan these out well to complete the Expedition within a limited amount of days, while having limited circumstances.
