[0.3.2] Patch Preview: Stamina Removal, New Cards and much more...


In the upcoming days we’ll publish the new patch for Erosion project - 0.3.2.

Each update brings new enhancements and features - brining us a step closer to our goal to create premium experiences in the world of adult games.

In this post we’ll preview the following systems you’ll be able to experience once the patch is published:

  • Stamina Removal
  • New Battle Screen
  • Enemy Hints
  • Equipment Effects
  • Combo Effect Changes

Stamina Removal

During the battle gameplay the Stamina system was supposed to be a manageable resource, where you had to think well before making a decision to use certain cards. This design didn’t age well, and it didn’t fit the “cards battle system” expectations either, hence we have removed the Stamina System, replacing it with an Action Points system.

The Action Points were already present, but now cards will use those points as Cost.

New Battle Screen

We can all agree that the Battle Screen was a bit confusing, buttons not being obvious enough and important warnings were barely noticeable. With the 0.3.2 update having a focus on the Battle System, we decided to properly design the screen in a more intuitive manner.

We planned to make this change later in development, but it started to become more and more noticeable.

Enemy Hints

The older detailed Enemy Descriptions have been replaced by Hints, which will tell you in short what that enemy will do.

We wanted to do this change to avoid information overload and make the enemy important effects more visible.

Equipment Effects

Some of them underwhelming or repetitive, and others simply didn’t work as they were bugged, the Equipment Effects have been changed to better fit the gameplay we want deliver.

Here are the new Equipment Set Effects:

  • Dust Scatterer - When Set Combo is used, you will gain [Total Recall] for 5 cycles - a state which will REDRAW all cards in your hand at the end of your turn.
  • Menaceful Hunter - At battle start: 2 Combo Symbols will be queued based on a random card in your Hand.
  • Enduring Bastion - At battle start: Recover 10% HP and get [High Protection] - granting you damage immunity for 2 hits.

NOTICE: If you’re loading an older save file, before patch 0.3.2 and you already owned one of these sets, the description of the sets will not be updated, yet the effect will work just fine as listed. (if you buy same set again, it will get the updated description too)

Combo Effect Changes

In order to make the the standard Combo effects more efficient with a greater synergy based on card types, we have changed their effects in the following:

  • Cube Symbol Combo - resets all your locked cards, now including Partner cards too
  • Vortex Symbol Combo - no changes (grants Critical Strike as previously)
  • Arrow Symbol Combo - deals 20 damage with a powerful strike, its damage increases by 10 each time you use it
  • Star Symbol Combo - your action points will be set to maximum actions you can have

Cards Rebalance

Once you found out a good Combo with certain cards that was often enough to get through most of the stages, and this is fine at first thought.

Yet, we want the players to experience multiple combos and multiple card combinations in order to bring your build to its maximum, considering that the upcoming enemies will get harder and harder.

We have rebalanced almost all cards existent in game, adding new effects and new synergies. We’ll let you figure out the changes made for the cards, but we can assure you that you’ll notice them being more useful.

Enemies Rebalance

Multiple enemies had their Attack increased and HP increased. Balancing will be always a challenge for us without your input 😁

That’s why whenever you feel like some enemies are too hard or too weak please let us know via the Pause Menu’s Feedback button. Or comment anywhere, we make sure to read all your comments.

New Upgrade System (+Compensation)

With the new effects for most of the existent cards, and the lack of purpose from 2 Upgrade choices we have decided to bring huge changes to the Upgrade System:

  • Upgrade now costs Gold
  • You can upgrade up to 4 times max (later you’ll be able to reset)
  • There will be only 1 Upgrade choice (a stronger card variant)
  • Older upgrades will be reset (+compensation given)

NOTICE: If you’re loading an older game file (before patch 0.3.2), all your upgrades will be reset, as some of your upgraded cards might be obsolete ones no longer available. To compensate this issue, anyone who’s loading an older save file will receive 400 Gold compensation to make your upgrading process easier. After all these card changes we think you might want to take a new look upon the upgrades.

New Cards Added

Finally we got new cards and we plan to add new ones regularly now that the battle system is more on point with our vision.

All new cards are Special Cards which can be obtained from Forest Of Desires.

The following new cards have been added:

  • Delayed Recoil
  • Confinement

Oh, and the effects of older Special Cards have been updated too 😉.

Battle Guides

During battles, enemy info will be now permanently displayed, and instead of the older Stamina and Enemy Info buttons we have replaced them with Combo and Battle Guide button.

We have added Battle Guides during battles so you can always check important info in case you missed something.

Fixing and Revamping Difficulties

This one had. . . plenty of bugs and missing features. Changes were made all the time and we had a difficult time keeping this system updated all the time.

We have now generalized the effects of the Difficulties and made them more or less challenging depending on your choice.

They all should be functional now, while the effect of most of them has been changed.
